My yogic journey started a few years ago. At this time, I was suffering from chronic neck and shoulder tension. I was beginning to feel much like Atlas - carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders! I was actively searching for a solution to reduce the amount of tension that I was experiencing. My family, colleagues and research led me to yoga.
As my practice started to evolve, so did my appreciation for the tools of yoga. A bit of a shift happened within me. I noticed that the self-doubt, negative mental chatter, the endless "what-if" statements, and worries about the future started to melt away. I was becoming more confident, compassionate and content with my life. I felt free! The tools of yoga were not only transforming my physical body, yet it was playing a role in improving my mental and emotional well-being. I fell in love with yoga, and became eager to share my passion for health and wellness with the world!
I am a Pranalife Certified Yoga Instructor! In order to better support my future students, I will be taking part in various workshops and additional training courses. Learning is an ongoing process. I am always looking for ways to grow both personally and professionally.
My Values & Beliefs (both on and off my mat):
I believe in creating safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces. Spaces that are accessible to EVERY BODY.
I believe in integrating creative play both on and off the mat. Creative play can cultivate joy, invite youthfulness and curiosity, boost energy and productivity, improve interactions with others, and so on.
I believe in developing a growth mindset. Adopting a growth mindset can help one respond to life's challenges or setbacks in a more productive way. FAIL = First Attempt In Learning; failing is an opportunity to learn and grow.
I believe in adhering to the principles of ahimsa. Ahimsa reminds us to respect all living things, including ourselves.
When I am not on my mat, you can find me reading a book (more than likely a supernatural/fantasy text), hiking, dancing, and eating delicious whole foods!
See ya on the mat!
Take good care everyone! :)
