Krista Power is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
I believe that I was always meant to teach Yoga, it just took me a while to find my way here. I purchased my first mat in 2001 and began a home Yoga practice. In 2011, after attending Fusion (a Yoga-based class) at my local YMCA for a few years, I became a certified YMCA instructor and taught the Fusion class for 2 years. I earned my AFLCA certification in Mind/Body in 2012, followed by my 200 hour Yoga Teacher certificate in 2013 and my 500 hour certificate in 2017. I teach a variety of formats including Hatha, Flow and Yin and have over 3500 teaching hours. I will always be a student of Yoga as well as a teacher and I believe wholeheartedly in the importance of continuing education. At a workshop in 2016, I learned of a practice called the Five Tibetans, and this set me off on another path. After a few years of practice and research, I wrote a book entitled The Original Five Tibetans and published it in April 2019. I teach workshops based on my book and am currently working on a video course. I appeared twice on the TV show "Yoga Fits In" with legendary teacher Gerda Krebs, which was a huge honor for me. I am passionate about Yoga - teaching, practicing and learning - and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share my passion with others. Everyone belongs in Yoga, I teach to all levels and abilities and it is important to me that everyone feels welcome in my classes. I offer in-person and online classes and a variety of on-demand video content to suit all schedules and budgets.
