Life is beautiful, but it can be overwhelming. In the midst of daily routines and schedules, yoga has provided me an opportunity to soak up present moments, appreciate life, and breathe. Every time I step off of my mat, I am restored. I feel prepared to continue with whatever the day ahead of me throws my way. The sense of clarity I feel after taking mere minutes to breathe deeply and be in the moment is something that only yoga can provide. My desire in teaching yoga is to provide others with an opportunity to achieve the same positive outcomes I have experienced within my own practice. Through gently-led asanas, yogis attending my classes are encouraged to do what they can and not worry about what they cannot. Perfection of poses or breathing is never the focus, but, rather, to take time for self to renew and reclaim your body, mind, and spirit.
My outgoing, friendly nature inspires those around me to join in on classes in a judgement-free atmosphere where everyone from all walks of life are welcomed. People would describe me as a genuine and generous person who wants the best for those who attend my classes; this extends beyond the studio to every member’s personal lives, as well. My greatest strength is taking groups of individuals who seemingly have nothing in common and creating a community through trust, security, and support.
Although I became a 200 Hour YTT graduate of Sage Yoga and Wellness in Boise, Idaho in 2019, I began my yoga journey by taking a community class in Enterprise, Oregon in 2008. I started taking yoga classes on a regular basis after the birth of my second child in 2010 and started teaching community yoga classes at the gym shortly after. In June 2019, I received my certification in Yoga Nidra, as well as Restorative/Yin Yoga in January 2020, and have attended Kidding Around Yoga children's training. In June 2020, I completed my 300 Hour YTT through Shanti Yoga Training School under the direction of Nathalie Croix.
I am eager to provide my own personal experiences with others, continue to guide others through their own personal yoga practice, and share knowledge obtained throughout my YTT program with others. I am appreciative to have trained under Marisa Wepner, Naomi Jones, and Marcy Midnight of Sage Yoga and Wellness, as well as from Nathalie Croix of Shanti Yoga Training School.
