Sarah Brassey is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Sarah Brassey started Warm Hearts Yoga in 2013, when she was looking for a local yoga class that she could attend with her young daughter.
Warm Hearts Yoga specialises in postnatal yoga and yoga for families, as well as offering traditional yoga classes for adults.
Before having children, Sarah was a secondary school teacher. After having her first child she took a career break and trained with Birthlight to teach mum and baby yoga. Discovering a love for teaching yoga as well as practicing, Sarah decided to change careers and continue her yoga teacher training.
Sarah originally trained with Birthlight and Rainbow Yoga, specialising in baby yoga, postnatal yoga, yoga for toddlers, children and families. She went on to study with CYS (registered with Yoga Alliance) for her 200hr Yoga teaching qualification and with Uma Dinsmore Tuli’s Womb Yoga for an additional 40 hour postnatal and family yoga qualification.
Sarah has practiced various styles of yoga throughout her life, but her preferred personal practice is Ashtanga. Her adult classes are based around the traditional Ashtanga system, which combines breath and movement to create a moving meditation. Working with a familiar sequence of physical postures allows the mind to quieten and provides a mental break whilst still energising the body.
Sarah passionately believes that yoga can provide so much more than strength, flexibility and fitness. She has found it has helped her to find a sense of calm amidst the chaos, to remain steady through the constant change, to love and accept herself, and to find a path to follow that feels right.
Weekly classes for children and parents from 6 weeks to 5 years run in Cupar and St Andrews during school term time, monthly classes for families with children aged 18 months to 10 years run in Cupar on Saturday mornings.
