First stepping onto the mat through an employee wellness program in 2012, yoga has been sprinkled throughout my education and career as an oncology nurse. Making a personal commitment to deepening my own practice, expanding my knowledge of yoga, and learning methods for safely teaching yoga to all populations, I completed the 200 hour teacher training at Embrace Yoga Studio. Yoga has brought me to a place where I am comfortable with myself and offered me the tools to find calm and balance among the chaos and demands of everyday life.
As a mother, spouse, and nurse, I am inspired to share the benefits of yoga to other caregivers. I think we are all caregivers in some capacity and that, as a caregiver, you should “never give from the depths of your well, but from your overflow.” Expect a welcome environment with warm smiles and humor as we practice a creative blend of yoga styles made accessible to all levels and body types.
