Nicola discovered yoga just after giving birth to her second child in 2006. “I was searching for some solace in my crazy, sleep deprived world. Yoga has taught me patience, resilience and acceptance, all of which I am convinced has made me a better mother."
Nicola was then introduced to Knoff Yoga in 2008 and was so impressed by the quality of the teaching and the commitment and passion of the teachers, that she became a regular student. Through her regular class attendance she came to know Nicky and James (then current owners of The Knoff Yoga School soon to become The Yoga School) well and started working for them at the beginning of 2012. In 2013 she completed the Discovery Teacher Training course and began her teaching career. “I immediately loved teaching, I'd found my passion.” She carried on with her education by completing Foundation and Chair Yoga in 2014, Intermediate in 2015, Pregnancy in 2017 and Holistic Healing A&B in 2018.
In November 2019 Nicola became a Yoga Alliance E.R.Y.T 500, meaning she is registered as an experienced and highly qualified Yoga Teacher (with in excess of 2000 teaching hours and having completed 500 hours of yoga teacher training). She is also a YACEP, or Yoga Alliance Continuing EducationProvider®, meaning that the workshops she teaches count as Continuing Education hours for RYTs.
She teaches from her boutique yoga studio at her home and also at The Yoga School. Both of these locations are in Cairns.
