As a trained pharmacologist with a PhD in neuropharmacology I have always had a fascination with the role of the mind in maintaining good physical health and aiding recovery from illness.

I started practicing yoga over a decade ago, originally drawn by a need to juggle the demands of a senior role and frequent international travel with long-term injury that did not respond to conventional methods. Yoga has helped me manage my stress levels and improve my injuries.

Many of us cope with stress by doing unhealthy things such as overindulging in a poor diet, taking little exercise and limiting exposure to the outdoors and nature.  All things we intuitively know adversely affect our wellbeing. Although we experience stress in our mind, it has a profound effect on physiological aspects of the body and weakens the body’s immune system, our defense from illness and the ability to maintain good health.

The reality for most of us is that there is little we can do about many of the sources of stress in our lives. What we can do something about, however, is how we build awareness and resilience to it. Yoga is about creating space, freedom and a deep awareness in both mind and body which has a huge impact on our ability to manage and build resilience to modern day stress.

My classes combine breath awareness with intelligent sequencing to build strength and flexibility safely. I teach with humour, authenticity and non-judgment, focusing on basic alignment and biomechanical principles.

My aim is to help you feel refreshed and energised whilst having discovered new levels of strength and flexibility in your body and mind.
