Sarah Hentges is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT-200) and YACEP with Yoga Alliance and holds an additional 100-hour certification in trauma-informed yoga. In October 2022, Sarah opened The Spiral Goddess Collective, a Center for Mind/Body Movement in downtown Bangor.
She has taught yoga for almost 20 years at a variety of community centers, gyms, and college campuses as well as Hiking Yoga on the Bangor Waterfront and yoga retreats at Pumpkin Hill. Sarah has also taught a variety of other fitness classes for over 25 years, particularly dance aerobics, mind/body fitness dance, and freestyle hybrid courses.
In 2022, Sarah became a JourneyDance guide and started offering JourneyDance classes, completing her ceritification as a JourneyDance facilitator in April of 2023. Sarah is also a professor of transdisciplinary cultural studies at the University of Maine at Augusta and a published author of several books including _Women and Fitness in American Culture_. She has a Facebook group "Yoga for Every Mind/Body with Sarah Hentges" and "JourneyDance with Sarah Hentges."
