Sarah Hentges is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance and holds an additional 100-hour certification in trauma-informed yoga. She has taught yoga for 17 years at a variety of community centers, gyms, and college campuses as well as Hiking Yoga on the Bangor Waterfront and yoga retreats at Pumpkin Hill. Sarah has also taught a variety of other fitness classes for over 25 years, particularly dance aerobics, mind/body fitness dance, and freestyle hybrid courses. In 2022, Sarah became a JourneyDance guide and started offering JourneyDance classes. Sarah is also a professor of American studies at the University of Maine at Augusta and a published author of several books including _Women and Fitness in American Culture_. She has a Facebook group "Yoga for Every Mind/Body with Sarah Hentges" and "JourneyDance with Sarah Hentges" and she teaches free Community Yoga for Every Mind/Body classes on the UMA-Bangor campus and, since covid, via Zoom.
