Judy's passion is to hold safe spaces for people to discover and celebrate the strengths and gifts of who they are right now. Through teaching yoga, she supports students in developing a compassionate relationship with their bodies that allows their spirits to shine through.
In addition to private sessions, workplace seminars, and workshops, Judy currently teaches regular weekly yoga and meditation classes live online and serves as a member of the Yoga Teacher Training Faculty at The Essence of Yoga Center in Richmond, KY.
Judy's current offerings include:
HAPPY Years Yoga: A research study with the University of Wisconsin - Madison exploring the impact of online yoga classes for fall prevention with healthy older adults in rural Wisconsin. Two classes weekly with identified research participants. A collaboration with the University of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Aging and Disability Resource Centers, and Happ:y Wellness.
Gentle Yoga: Gentle Yoga focuses on breath, alignment and core integration with a mix of meditation, floor work and standing poses. Props and options are the norm, with special attention to safety and deep body intelligence. Appropriate for beginners and all practitioners who appreciate a deep and gentle approach to building strength, flexibility, and balance -- as well as support for living your yoga off the mat in your daily life. After class, we'll take a few minutes to check in and visit for those who wish to stay.
Chair Yoga: Chair Yoga builds physical and mental strength, flexibility, and balance while seated in a chair or using a chair for support when standing. Appropriate for beginners and all practitioners who appreciate a deep, effective and gentle practice without getting up and down from the floor.
Calming Meditations for These Times: A "pay what you want" offering. Proceeds benefit local food banks.): This 30-minute meditation session offers tools you can use daily to reconnect with your body and breath; soothe your nervous system; cultivate a calmer mind; and connect more deeply with others, even in this time of physical distancing. These extraordinary times call for us to be fully present with ourselves so that we may be well and show up for others with clarity and love. No yoga or meditation experience is necessary.
