Yoga has been a fundamental part of my journey since I was twelve years old. Fascinated by the spiritual components and the lack of aggressive competition from other workouts, I spent most of my turbulent teen years teaching myself yoga from DVDs. When I graduated with my Masters in Social Work, I dove deeper into my home yoga practice by following YouTube yogis such as Bad Yogi Erin Motz and SarahBethYoga. When I decided to brave the world and try a yoga studio experience, Siva Yoga in Wichita, KS was the place for me.
I believe that yoga is accessible for every body no matter the age, the size, or the experience. I believe that yoga is an excellent way to move one's mind and body from one emotion to the next. I believe yoga cleanses negative energy in the mind and body and leaves you with a calm, focused, and capable self. And most importantly, yoga is YOUR practice, one that you can adapt and change every time you get on the mat.
