I completed my 200 hour teacher training with Sacred Seeds Yoga School in 2017. Then in June 2018 I became a Co-Director of Bija Yoga Tasmania in partnership with Holli Sinn and Pema Choo. Pema has since moved on and Rachel Cooper has replaced her.

Having started my yoga journey as a teenager, even almost completing teacher training over 27 years ago, I returned to my practice after having spent too many years in my head using my intellect and forgetting to connect with my body, breath and spirit.

While my work in the community sector over the last 24 years, 17 in women’s health, and trying to make a difference through unpaid environment and human rights activism has been important and rewarding I realise I need balance in my life. Not only for my health and well-being, but also so I can be a better parental unit, more productive in my home and work life and an effective part of the solution, rather than the problem.

Since completing my training in 2017, I have also completed an Advanced 300 hour training in Seasonal Hatha and Yin Yoga, undertaken a Trauma Awareness and Pranayama course among others. I am committed to continued learning through courses, reading and my own practice.

I am excited to share with others what I am learning through my relationship with yoga including the many physical, emotional and spiritual benefits. I provide a safe and supportive environment for students to explore their relationship with yoga, their practice, to try new things, develop and grow.

As a lead teacher with Sacred Seeds Yoga School I am also passionate about guiding student yoga teachers as they diver deeper into their practice and connect with their calling to share yoga with others.

I teach classes for Women's Health Tasmania including one at the Mary Hutchins Women's Prison. I also teach both group and individual classes and deliver workshops for Bija Yoga Tasmania.

My classes focus on connecting the body, breath and mind during asana, pranayama and concentration finding steadiness and comfort to experience the essence and benefits of the practice.

I feel, and hope, if more human beings are nurturing themselves and feeling connected then surely, as a species, we might in turn show more compassion to each other and the planet.
