I was encouraged to take up yoga in my early twenties as a practice for my mental health. One class a week became two, became four, and pretty soon I was reading everything that I could and (without much direction) building a home practice that would get me through some very tough times. After a few years, I decided to deepen my practice and learn through teaching by taking a mixed method teacher training.
Since then I found my Gurus and inspirations, but believe the beauty of yoga is that there is something for everyone. Whether you are old, young, inbetween, strong, healthy, sick, poor or wealthy there is always a way and a teacher out there who will give you what you need.
Currently my areas of focus in study and teaching are embodiment and somatics, nondualism and tantra, hatha yoga, flow yoga, free movement and yin yoga. I draw inspiration from the natural world, from sutras, from any content that stands out throughout pop culture and my own creative expression in art and other media.
I teach beginners and experienced practitioners alike, and have a gift for working with those who have less than happy life histories, having the lived experience and training to lead with compassion where I can. I believe in balancing a disciplined practice with a light and body-wisdom lead attitude to life.
