Birgit teaches at Chalmers University and at The Gremlin Movement Society in Göteborg, Sweden. In addition, she teaches online on Insight Timer. https://insighttimer.com/blove

Before, she taught at Yogalution Movement, Long Beach, California, from 2015 to 2019. In addition, she teaches around the world wherever the wind blows her, from retreats to professional conference and where she finds herself exploring the world, including Germany, Austria, Spain, the US, Mexico, France, the UK, Nepal, Finland, and more.

Birgit started with yoga when she was 8 or 9 year old after finding a book about kids yoga in the library of the little village in Bavaria she grew up in; she thought it was super cool and fun to be a lion, snake or scorpion. Her first ever yoga class was with Ines Oberscheid at the Yoga Centrum Erding. After practicing yoga on and off for the next fifteen years, she dove into a more dedicated practice in 2006 with the Jivamukti Yoga schools in Munich under Shannon Garon and David Life, Patrick Boome, Gabriela Boczik, Petros Haffenrichter, Anje Schafer and Michi Kern. In 2009, she went traveling to India and practiced Ashtanga yoga in Dharamsala.

Her research work dedicated to environmental sustainability brought her to Irvine, California in 2013, where she continued at Shakti Yoga with Katelyn Schumacher, Brynn Rybacek, Ashlee Goite, and Louise With-Seidelin. When she moved to Long Beach in 2014, she stumbled across Yoga on the Bluff, happily started going to Yogalution Movement, and took the 200h Teacher Training with Dharma Shakti.

In 2019, she completed the intensive Pranayama training with The Breath Center under Michael Brian Baker and Audri Jacques and has found a deeper love for pranayama and energetic work as well as traditional plant use.

In 2022, she completed a 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training at Samadhi Yoga Ashram, Rishikesh, under Guru Vishnu Panigrahi.

She invests in her continued education as a life-long task to improve her teaching and enjoys reading books related to classic yogic teachings, anatomy, well-being, psychology, meditation, and spirituality.

She is excited about giving and taking classes, and learning from teachers around the world wherever her wanderlust takes her, and is grateful for being able to give back by passing on her knowledge and serving her community. In her flow classes, she intends to bring sweaty bliss and to find the right level for every student to immerse in their practice. In her Yin classes, she holds space for going deep inside and finding connection in the stillness. In her Pranayama classes, she guides new and experienced students with calm through a deeper experience of energy by means of using their breath.
