Sav was born and raised in Central AR, and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University. She is licensed as a psychotherapist (LPC/LMFT) and a bodyworker (LMT) in Arkansas and, in her quest for clinical excellence, she has amassed nearly 800 hours of training in various modalities focusing on trauma resolution. Her passion is the interplay between mind and body and, as a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, she weaves the neurobiology and neurophysiology of trauma, resilience, and embodiment into all that she does.
Sav found yoga as an overweight and out of shape teenager; ten years later, she keeps coming back to her mat day in and day out. She has studied with Rachel Brathen, Lara Heimann, Kino MacGregor, Tiffany Cruikshank, Zabie Yamasaki, and Ram Jain. She has completed 1250+ hours of yoga education, including 40+ hours of yoga nidra, 50+ hours of yin yoga training, 85+ hours of pre/postnatal yoga training, 95+ hours of children's yoga training, 100+ hours of trauma-sensitive yoga training, and she has completed her 800-hour IAYT-approved yoga therapy training through Spanda Yoga Movement Therapy. As of March 2022, Savanna is in the process of pursuing certification as a C-IAYT.
