Katy's journey into the world of yoga began at the age of 9 when her mom indulged her curiosity and took her to her first class. Yoga has since woven seamlessly into Katy's existence.
It wasn't until her sophomore year in college that Katy rediscovered the transformative power of yoga. Delving deeper into her practice, she felt a direct impact on her self-esteem, self-awareness, and stability. In the summer between obtaining her Bachelor's degree and beginning her Master's, Katy completed her 200-RYT at Inhale Pittsburgh in June 2017. Katy further expanded her expertise, earning certifications in Yoga for Trauma and Yoga for Addiction and Recovery.
In her teaching journey, Katy aspires to provide a curious space, where folks of all walks of life feel welcome. Through her classes, she aims to inspire students to build connections between breath, body, and being, to be playful, and to rediscover a sense of self and belonging. She also likes to add Reiki to her classes when possible as she is a Level II Reiki Practitioner.
Beyond the mat, Katy lives on a 42-foot sailboat with her partner, always inspired by the water and her continuously changing backyard. When she is not practicing yoga or sailing, you will find her reading fantasy and writing about all things unfolding in and around her.
