I earned both my 200 hour and my 300 hour RYT under the teachings of Mary Irby of White Crow Yoga. My education is based primarily on Thirumoolar's Therapeutic Ashtanga yoga.
My approach to yoga involves seeing the individual first. The asanas (poses) practiced, as well as the methods and variations are based on the individual. I guide students through not just the "how" of asanas, but also the "why." I am not a physical therapist, but I teach yoga from a healing standpoint. My approach to Ahstanga yoga involves coordinating movement with the breath and increasing awareness through mindfulness.
I believe we are to take care of our bodies because that is where we dwell. Who we are goes beyond what we live in.
for bodily training is just slightly beneficial, but godliness is beneficial for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:8 ( more direct translation from the Greek)
