The Christmas before I turned 17, my best friend gave me a bright purple yoga mat and “MTV Yoga” on VHS (yes I said VHS). After my first practice I remember feeling like I was taller and also somehow infused with glitter. It was love at first sun salutation. That love has had its ups and downs and for a while we drifted apart. It was in 2013, while rehabbing my royally angered IT Bands, yoga and I were brought back together for good!
Since then my physical practice has gone from powerful vinyasa flow to pre/postnatal and back again. I have been fortunate to practice in person at YogaGlo in Santa Monica with Kathryn Budig, and have found beautiful mentors to study with here at home.
My love of the practice, in terms of the physical and philosophical, has driven me to want share those first love butterflies and glitter bomb feelings. In 2017 it was time to take a leap and complete my 200 hour teacher training with Amy Thiessen and Jenelle Kitto. Later that year, while pregnant with my daughter, I became a registered prenatal yoga teacher with Amy Martin. In 2019, I was fortunate to study under Kristen Beaulieu in Sacred Elders training for seniors. Most recently I was able to complete a 40 hour Yoga Nidra training online, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
