My teaching style is fluid, inspired by Dance, Osteopathy and Psychology studies to create a biomechanical yet embodied approach. I back away from micromanaging students, preferring to give just enough cues to empower you to find the best ways for your unique body, but targeting the exact areas to open and contract, making my classes accessible and stealthily challenging! I am all about giving autonomy and agency to students whilst being your biggest cheerleader.
I guide students to practice from a place of mindful engagement, rather than creating more strain, tension and ego. No teacher is beyond questioning and I am constantly considering what I am offering to ensure it is dogma free, current and evolving, whilst still deeply honouring and learning from tradition.
I know from personal experience that for many people, loving their bodies and minds feels like an epic task, so I facilitate a space that fosters acceptance as a first step, love might come later. With personal experience of eating disorders, self harm, anxiety, depression and addictions I am aware of how trauma can live in the body and I can say hands down that yoga has helped me to turn my life around. I am still on my own healing journey, I don’t think it will ever end, I welcome you to join me whilst you are on yours or whilst you help others with theirs. This is a shame free environment.
I am passionately anti-diet culture and I offer a HAES approach (health at every size). As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community I know how easy it is to feel alienated, whoever you are, you are welcome in my class, my ears are open, I am ready to learn how to serve you better.
