Angela comes to yoga from years of teaching Spanish, Physical Education and coaching soccer. She has the patience that comes with teaching a variety of ages and abilities - - from preschoolers to adults. Angela has a quiet strength and empathy for days. She has an open heart, a hilarious laugh that she shares with her nine year old son and husband. She crafts meaningful reflections and connects to her students wherever they find themselves on the mat. Her favorite yogas to teach are on the yin side - yin, restorative, and pranayama, but she also enjoys teaching the yang yogas - - namely Vinysasa. Her appreciation for yoga stems from the restorative and spiritual elements that it offers. Angela has a deep appreciation for its ultimate rewards: Improving mind and body connection, Strengthening the core, developing a balanced physique and better posture, increasing flexibility and relaxation, as well as strengthening the body in a low-impact manner. Most importantly, she appreciates the long term effects of mindfulness, increased compassion and gratitude for the self and others, as well as the connection it cultivates among fellow individuals.
Angela has studied with Pranayama and Inner-Axis Yoga with Max Strom and Jamie Elmer, and Yin Yoga with Bernie Clark. She completely her first 200hr training locally but then adventured to Utrecht for her second. She is currently working on her 300hr advanced training. Recently, she has discovered SmartFLOW with Annie Carpenter, and has loved diving into its practices and principles.
Feeling better in the body is a wish she embodies for herself as well as others. And she finds yoga as the perfect avenue to accomplish this wish. Whatever experience is chosen, she hopes to see you on your mat soon!
