Jackie Carter – E-RYT 200, RCYT, Certified Chair and Gentle yoga teacher.
Understanding intention to reach achievable goals has become my motto and the concept around which I teach. Many of my students have been evolving with me in this journey and we all have gotten to a point of where “movement isn’t like it used to be” The key is to learn how to weave the best version of you by accepting what is, allowing yourself to transform with grace and be aware that you still have the ability to paint a better future. You are never too old to dream and to set intentions.
Having limitations and dealing with my health issues has helped me create a class that is based around body awareness. Sometime in everyone’s life we will all have to deal with physical limitations. I provide a class that can help address these limitations and provide students with a variety of modifications to make movement work around their body. By seeing who is there and understanding their needs I am able to create a class that benefits the whole. We are not just going through the motions, but being a part of a community of likeminded individuals who are looking to gain some of their independence back. Movement is challenging yet safe and simple enough that anybody can participate. We use traditional asanas and work with them from the ground up building our bodies at a safe rate. My goal is to provide students a safe yoga environment where you can feel at ease knowing that you are fully accepted.
