AMORHANIA LEÑERO

500ERYT 25809

Co Founder and director of

Ananda. Yoga desde el Corazón registered Yoga School 500YRS 72789

Amorhania is a teacher who touches hearts. Her path in yoga began in 2000 and from that moment a process of profound transformation began for her that continues to happen today, now with many years of practice and completely dedicated to teaching, she has shared yoga from the heart since 2006.

Initially  she studied visual arts at the University of Mexico. For many year she was exploring creation and materials, but her quest took her farther and in 2003, She leaves everything, family and friends, work and artistic career in search of her truth. She went to Bolivia, where she lived for many months the experience of deep growth in the Janajpacha Ashram in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Directed by the Andean mystic Chamalu. The Ashram experience is one of tremendous transformation. To be born you have to break worlds, and the world she knew cracks apart and something new was born, something died in a daily process of profound metamorphosis, which could only happen in community life and ashram, school for life. She travels to Peru with the community and receives shamanic initiations in the kings Valley . Something inside is activated, intuition manifests itself by reading symbols everywhere. She then continues her search for her in Argentina and arrives in Buenos Aires where she remains for many months on a journey of deep integration, attending yoga classes at the Indra Devi Foundation. This is a time of solitude, of understanding, meditating, looking within without interruption. It is during this time that she acknowledges her commitment to the Dharma and in an intimate act she shaves her head and surrenders the old life, the old identity,…. The process continues and the butterfly begins to be outlined.

She travels for a while through South America and then returns to Mexico where in 2005 she trained as a yoga teacher in the Riviera Maya. It is then that her mission as a teacher begins. And she receives the spiritual name of her Amorhania that describes her mission: love and service as the path to inner peace.

Since then, she has continued her study and personal development, focusing on the teaching of yoga with a deep vocation of service. Her class is dynamic, fun, creative, vitalizing with that masterful touch that manages to reach deep. She has a special talent for sharing in a friendly and approachable way. She captures in each class the beauty and fluidity of the artist who uses the language of Yoga as a means of expression. Her technique is Vinyasa, her canvas is the body and in it, she captures poetry and colors.

She has practiced the main traditional styles of dynamic VINYASA Yoga generated by the great heritage of teacher Sri T. Krishnamacharya whom she considers her root Master. After study and practice, she has generated in her teaching, a synthesis that gives importance to alignment and technique in a constant self-knowledge of the body, reminding us of the beauty of movement and its possibilities. Her creative sequences are a game of exploration that encourages us to go deep, to experience our true conscious and luminous essence. She is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance as a 500E-RTY, which qualifies her to prepare teachers.

In 2006 she convened the formation of the Ananda Yoga Project from the Heart, which has been an angular space for the development of yoga in the Riviera Maya due to her work in generating community and the training of advanced yoga teachers.

It is at this time that she convenes and guides circles of women for several years at each full moon. It is thanks to these circles that she connects with her divine feminine power.

Amorhania is the leader and co-founder of the Ananda Yoga School from the Heart SC, which since October 2006 has been a true beacon of light in Playa del Carmen for seekers and practitioners of Yoga in the Riviera Maya and those who visit it. The Ananda Project stands out for its training program for advanced Yoga teachers. With which they have graduated 10 generations of excellent teachers with a unique and profound program that leads its participants to a process of true transformation.

In 2011 she created and opened the doors of Casa Ananda Yoga Ashram in Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo MEXICO. Which she has directed ever since. Casa Ananda has been the meeting place for authentic yoga seekers and has consistently stood out within the yoga community as a temple to the spirit and home to the ananda yoga from the heart family. The House is alive, it is an ashram full of light and pure and true energy. www.casaanandayogaashram.com

As a teacher of teachers, she has participated and trained 16 generations of teachers in long and short formats. Teachers who today share from her heart, and give continuity to the teaching inherited by the teachers of the past. Her mission of service in life is fully expressed in the teaching of yoga and in the training of teachers who can spread the message of yoga everywhere and for Everyone, because yoga is a tool for a life to the full.

In 2014 she began her personal study and practice in Sri Vidya and Tantra with Master Maa Parvathi Nanda Nath, a direct and close disciple of Guru Amrtananda. Since then she has been a practitioner of Sri Vidya, considered one of the most advanced technologies to embody cosmic consciousness through ritual and a deep relationship with the Divine Mother, as the supreme truth: Tripura Sundary, who is the central figure of Shaktism. Amorhania is a devotee of Lalitha Devi, one of the names of Tripura Sundary, and therefore recognizes a fundamental part of her practice as bhakti or devotional in essence.

In December 2015, Amorhania and Tich Fer began a trip to India that generated an even closer link with yoga and the thought forms that emanate from the Veda and Sanatana Dharma. Her journey begins in Bangalore at Gudda Ashram of Amma Gurumatha Pooja, her teacher and spiritual mother. In the ashram, as part of the Dashinotsava celebrations, Amorhania and Fernando celebrate marriage within the Hindu tradition. Afterwards, they travel through a large part of India for six months in deep contact with the culture and people of the country that continues to be a mystery of transformation for those who have visited and valued it. They travel to India and Nepal for the second time in 2019 to lead a pilgrimage to the four holy abodes (Chardham Yatra) in the Indian Himalayas. On both trips they have completed three of the most important pilgrimages of the Hinduism. During her significantly long stay she had the opportunity to be taught by great masters in the place where Yoga originated. During her travels and through her teachers she has been taught through stories and myths which she treasures and shares in her own classes.

In 2016 she began to practice Vedic chanting under the Krishnamacharya tradition and she is deeply passionate about this practice. She has practiced non-stop ever since and has studied for good holding and pronouncing in her traditional way several very important sacred texts of yoga and the Vedic tradition and its innumerable branches. Such as, Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, Shantih Phatams, Shri Suktam, Narayana Upanishad, Purusha Suktam, Lalitha Sahasranama and Sri Rudram Prashnaha

During 2020 they begin to open their platform to digital classes and a new era begins for yoga where technological means allow to generate a distance practice. With the new technologies, new challenges also arise that have forced the ananda project to a transformation process that is happening today, where new courses and activities are presented in the school program, such as short teacher training courses.

In 2021, invited by the Casa Shambala Yoga School, she trained four generations of yoga teachers as a Teacher Leader in the English language and this opens up a new perspective for her on how the message can reach very deep and really spread throughout the world.

With a restless and dedicated heart that convenes, organizes and promotes, Amorhania is a teacher dedicated to Dharma and to giving continuity to authentic Yoga and the tools that it offers us for life. She feels that teaching and sharing is a form of LOVE in ACTION……..and she manifests it in her serving and giving from the heart.
