My yoga journey began in 1998 at the Sivananda centre in Putney, UK. It has taken me to many studios around London and other parts of the world, especially in Hong Kong where I trained to teach at Yogalimbs (sadly closed down) under the expert tuition of Wanda in 2008.
In Hong Kong I taught at a handful of studios and private classes to groups and individuals. Learning from my students and fellow teachers, immersing myself in the life of the yoga community.
Along the way, I have taken a number of courses with amazing teachers like Jason Crandell, Seane Corn and Sarah Powers and attended workshops of many more.
And now my journey brings me back to England.
I teach a mindful flowing yoga style, linking to breath, focusing on individuals alignment, allowing students to explore in a safe and fun environment the possibilities that a practice can bring. Always encouraging students but never pushing them beyond their ability at that moment. Recognizing that every one is an individual and everyday is different.
In addition I teach Yin yoga classes where postures are held for longer periods allowing the individual to connect even more deeply with the breath and to develop a strong mindfulness foundation.
I also teach yoga on the wall using straps in my small studio - exploring alignment and allowing students to really explore their experience in each pose - energetially as well as physically.
Yoga helped me through two pregnancies and a huge personal trauma, bringing peace and acceptance where I might have fallen to pieces.
Why do I teach? Because I love yoga. Because I have been given the opportunity to do so. Because teaching is an honour. Because yoga is a gift to be shared. Because teaching as well as practicing grounds me, lifts me, centers me and brings peace, harmony, balance and joy. And I want to share this.
