Stu first came to yoga as a physical practice for strength and flexibility, but quickly found that it was also having a profound effect on his wellbeing, calming the stresses and strains of maintaining a corporate career and easing the effects of long term anxiety and depression.

As the call to commit to daily practice and the fulfilment of teaching began to build, he finally took a step into the unknown in 2014, leaving his old career behind to focus full time on the practice and study of yoga. In 2015 he travelled extensively throughout Asia, practicing and studying various aspects of yoga, meditation and philosophy, and after completing several teacher trainings, began to develop his unique style as a teacher in his own right. Blending traditional Ashtanga and pranayama techniques with a dynamic flowing style, his classes shine with his passion and enthusiasm for the practice of yoga.

As a student first and a teacher second, Stu continues to develop his own practice and his desire to share this practice, as well as the experiences of his unique journey with his students is infectious. Weaving together the calming and centering effects of meditation and breath work with playful and challenging physical sequences, his classes will leave you feeling calm and energised, helping to build strength and balance in both body and mind. Passionate about the underlying science and philosophy of yoga, Stu also writes and lectures on various topics, helping to spread the message of yoga as a holistic approach to physical and mental wellbeing.

“The only way that we can live is if we grow. The only way we can grow is if we change. The only way we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we are exposed is if we throw ourselves into the open.” – C. Joybell
