Born in 1983 in Ankara, he finished his primary and high school education in Izmir and moved back to Ankara for university. Finishing his undergraduate and graduate education in Middle East Technical University (METU) as an engineer, Gokce always continued to explore his inner-self.
He started practising Aikido in 2002 in METU and became a 2nd Dan in this martial art knowing Aikido has a deep philosophical background and represents his view of life. In this time, he found the opportunity to work with world famous masters including Nobuyoshi Tamura.
Discovering the importance of body, mind and spirit with Aikido, he believed one should always cultivate a balance between these. His continuing search brought him to Yoga in 2008. He practised Ashtanga Yoga for a long time and moved to Australia in 2014. Being amazed by the diversity and productivity of Yoga in Australia, he decided to go to Bali, Indonesia in 2015 to start his teacher training. In Bali, by his definition: a place from paradise, he finished a 2 months intensive training with Shades of Yoga. He worked with many famous teachers participating in Bali Spirit Festival. He participated in Bandhas and Yoga Anatomy workshops with Simon Borg-Olivier and Yin Yoga workshops with Doug Swenson. Finishing his Yoga Alliance RYT 200 and RYT 300 educations successfully, he moved back to Turkey.
Gokce knows that Yoga is a life long education. He believes this education should cultivate strength and flexibility in body, mind and spirit. He teaches group and private courses in many places in Turkey.
