I'm an American currently living in Bangalore, India.
I completed the RYT200 in the summer of 2014, and my RYT300 certification requirements in the spring of 2016. I completed the course for RCYT in April of 2015 and the teaching requirements in April of 2016. I hold regular private classes for in Bangalore.
While I've only had a regular sadhana in yoga for a few years, my history with systems of movement is long. I've practiced martial arts for 25 years. Most of my martial arts experience is with Japanese kobudo (old style martial arts). However, I've also trained in muay thai, tai chi, and have been studying the Keralan martial art of Kalaripayattu since February of 2014.
I've also learned Thai Yoga Bodywork (TYB), a system that combines acupressure and assisted stretching, and which complements yoga nicely. I've studied TYB both in India, through the IMOSHA, and in Thailand at Wat Pho.
I have particular interest in using yoga as part of a program of combatives optimized physical training, and the science behind the benefits of yoga.
