“The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships” ~T.K.V. Desikachar~
Yoga to me is magical and has changed my life over the past few years. It started off slow and before I knew it is was more than just a physical practice for me. Yoga, can positively impact your physical body but more importantly it impacts your mind. In the past 16 years of being a registered social worker and working on the front line with people on a daily basis, it has been yoga that has allowed me to relieve stress. Yoga, has helped me become a better social worker and has allowed me to avoid becoming “burnt out” from this career. I enjoy a physical practice as it helps to calm my mind and body at the same time. Teaching yoga seemed like the next step in my personal life and professional career. It is another way to work one on one with people and help them through whatever they may be struggling with. Everyone brings something different to their mat, if I can help them in any way, then that to me is what yoga is all about.
