Kristine “Muktidevi” Demafeliz is a born and raised San Franciscan. She graduated from the 2014 Fall Basic Yoga Teacher Training program from the Integral Yoga® Institute in the heart of San Francisco. She received the spiritual Sanskrit name Muktidevi from TT staff when she received her "diplomo"… which translates “Goddess of Liberation” which reminds her every day to remain “grounded” in her life and to maintain her true nature of peace. She is certified in Basic and Intermediate Hatha I and Hatha II, Accessible Yoga (Gentle) and in September 2019, was certified in Mindful Resilience Training with the Veterans Yoga Project to teach trauma-informed yoga. She wishes to pursue future trainings in Prenatal Yoga as well as Yoga For First Responders.
She discovered a DEEP passion for yoga and has been a practitioner for 12 years. The moment she step foot at the IYI, she said it was TRULY a life-changing experience and grew to become more disciplined in her life. She sought TT in December 2014 which was a perfect time in her life to enroll into the institute’s TT program. She said that the 200-hour certification program was definitely a time-tested journey but in turn, she was enriched and enlightened by the teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda, the founder of Integral Yoga®. In the end, it was all well worth it as it allowed for her to gain the knowledge and true-depth study of the science and philosophy of YOGA. Muktidevi is very happy to have fulfilled one of her dreams… to becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher!
She is a Yogini who also lives with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for 23 years and says that the benefits of yoga have helped her tremendously on more than just a physical level but also with her mind, spirit, and heart. Her intention is to assist individuals with injuries, health ailments, and/or illnesses to bring awareness to one’s unique Self. She strongly believes that the practice of YOGA is so powerful that it can truly improve and enhance the general health and well-being to restore balance in One's life.
