I believe the principles and practice of Yoga are relevant to myriad of settings. As a result of this belief, I have advocated and successfully integrated Yoga into the areas of art education, corporate well being, and clinical settings.
Prior to teaching Yoga full time, I studied exercise science and spent 15 years developing mindfulness based wellness programs for NIKE and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. As an anatomy geek, I followed my initial 200 hour yoga certification with 300+ hours anatomy and physiology rich instruction with my primary teacher, Jason Crandell. I also completed the Integrative Yoga for Seniors Masters program offered at Duke University Integrative Medicine.
My desire is to create an environment where, regardless of age or ability, each student is able to envision and nurture his or her own practice. Therefore, my private work specializes on those with arthritis, COPD, cancer, chronic pain, heart problems, joint replacement, and osteoporosis.
