"Do your practice and all is coming" - Sri K. Patthabi Jois
I remember trying my first yoga class at a gym when I was 13 years old, thinking: "I'm just gonna die here, this is so hard". Still, I returned to the classes sporadically. However, it was only when I moved to New York as a student years later that I really fell in love with the practice. New York, as a city of opportunities and, yes, a lot of stress with its continuous fast pace, forced me to find a source of quietness, of relaxation after a hard day's work as well as let loose and gather new energy. Difficult times often require us to question our life situation and to look inward instead of focussing on the chaos out there. With time, yoga did not only become a physical practice for my body but a holistic lifestyle that incorporates a deep respect towards myself and others as well as a tool to find peace inside my mind -on the mat and in everyday life.
The yoga teacher training in 2014 came as a natural step to me, providing me with a strong knowledge of anatomy and structural alignment so that I am able to teach safely and look deeply at a person's individual needs. Ever since I have been teaching classes regularly, creating my own style with a fusion of Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Elements, all depending on the level of the student.
The more you practice, the more yoga will become a way of life, offering your self a way to realize its own potential.
