Leigh holds a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy (First Class Distinction) from S-VYASA University in Bengaluru, India, where she is currently pursuing a doctorate in Yoga. Her master's thesis received two awards for her research on yoga and pain management in aromatase inhibitor-induced arthralgia in estrogen positive breast cancer. Her research abstract was published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO) Supplement to the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2018 Annual Meeting.

In 2018, she was invited by the Union of International Cancer Control to chair the Yoga and Cancer Symposium at the World Cancer Congress held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A few weeks later she gave the Keynote at the Cancer Survivorship Conference at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York.
