Greetings! I offer a free 20-30 minute phone meeting if you'd like to explore working together one-on-one...this is a way for us to hear each other's voices and answer any questions: I'm dedicated to finding the best practitioner for women who seek supportive techniques for total body/mind health. Please email me to discuss more at: dianatokaji@gmail.com
A little about my 40-plus years in the field, including certifications and studies: I am an E-RYT 500 and Continuing Education Provider with Yoga Alliance, and a twice-certified Yoga Therapist with a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy from Maryland University of Integrative Health. I received my first yoga teaching certification from the Integral Yoga Institute of San Francisco with Nischala Joy Devi in 1984 and continued years of training in structural and therapeutic practices with master teachers descended from B.K.S. Iyengar, and T.K.V. Desikachar.
Personally, my sudden inability to walk when I was an 18-year-old dancer, inspired a depth of self-study that offered knowledge beyond any schooling -- gratefully I was able to self-assess and apply therapeutic solutions that were later confirmed by excellent formal training. My first Yoga Therapy Practitioner training was with the exceptional Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in 1997, and this beautiful work continues to influence me deeply. In addition to holding an M.Sc. in Yoga Therapy since 2015, I am a certified Pilates Mat instructor, a certified Restorative Yoga teacher, and I hold Advanced Relax & Renew Trainer completion with Judith Lasater. Formerly I was on faculty at Gallaudet University, Willow Street Yoga Center, and Sky House Yoga, with 35 years of yoga teaching experience, and 25 years of private sessions. I am a Certified and Registered member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
As a YACEP-certified workshop leader, I offer courses for yoga teachers and trainees, yoga therapists, psychotherapists, and medical and alternative health practitioners on topics that include:
Creative Mudra - A Tool for Life
