Deirdre is a registered yoga instructor (E-RYT 500, YACEP). She first practiced yoga as a college student in the 1980s and although savasana was greatly appreciated, the practice didn't initially stick. Following career #1 and a couple of babies, she rediscovered yoga and has had a dedicated personal practice since 1999, and has been teaching since 2010. Deirdre teaches vinyasa yoga to all levels of students. Her classes are relaxed and inviting with a creative flow, set to an eclectic mix of music. Anatomy, alignment, breath practices, yoga history & philosophy are integrated throughout her teaching.
She enjoys practicing with all levels of yogis, offering options to keep it accessible for new yogis and challenging for the more experienced. Deirdre is drawn to applying the therapeutic benefits of yoga to help students feel better in their bodies and manage various conditions. She teaches Gentle yoga for low back pain, Chair yoga for Seniors, and Yoga & sleep. Pranayama and iRest yoga nidra are also in her wheelhouse.
Deirdre received her 200 hour teaching certification with Mitchel Bleier in 2010 and her 300 hour certification through Yoga on High in Columbus, Ohio in 2017.
