Kit McFarland, RYT200, began her yoga journey as a student at Indiana University. She continued to practice as she moved across the country to Washington, DC and then Boulder, CO where she especially enjoyed taking prenatal yoga classes during both of her pregnancies. After graduate school, her family moved to Fredericksburg, VA where she taught High School English.
In 2013 she began an RYT 200 training program while at the same time founding Dragonfly Yoga Studio in downtown Fredericksburg. Owning a yoga studio and teaching 8-15 yoga classes at the studio and out in the community was a dream come true! She was able to use the Studio for 35+ yoga classes a week, workshops, and as a community gathering space for events and enrichment activities. Through community partnerships, Kit increased yoga in the area at local businesses, senior living facilities, outdoor venues, and more! Kit was also the lead teacher for three RYT 200 trainings--facilitating the education of over 30 yoga teachers. Through her efforts, thousands of students of all ages and abilities got to experience the breadth and depth of a complete yoga practice--body, mind and spirit!
The only thing that could tear her away from this dream life was a huge travel opportunity abroad--in 2018 Kit's family moved to Germany to pursue a global experience and education. As a family, they spent five years living in a German village, becoming global citizens, traveling as much as possible, and practicing yoga all over the world. Kit taught students of all ages on and off the Ramstein Air Base.
In 2023 Kit and her family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they are building a life that will include practicing and teaching yoga.
