I am an official child of the sixties! In high school I climbed the rock faces in Squamish, B.C. In the seventies I helped build a community that lived without electricity or amenities in the British Columbia wilderness. In the eighties I was part of the self-help movement assisting myself and others to move toward personal growth and transformation, and in the nineties I became a naturopathic physician. I have always looked for paths to share growth, self-acceptance and joy.
I completed my 200hr teacher training at The College of Purna Yoga, Vancouver in June, 2014 and I completed my 500hr YTT with Aadil Palkhivala and his wife Savitri in Bellevue, WA in 2015. Purna Yoga was created by Aadil and Savitri and utilizes a carefully crafted lineage of asana from B.K.S. Iyengar, the spiritual teachings of the Gita, Veda, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (transl by Sri Swami Satchidananda), Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, manifested today through Savitri and her teachings of active meditation or 'Heartfull Meditation'. My 200hr YTT was taught by Brad Waites, a RYT2000 in Vancouver, B.C. who is a gifted teacher and mentor.
Purna yoga has felt like coming home. It is designed to connect to spirit and dharma in a beautiful and powerful way. I am so happy to have pragmatic and simple ways to continue my journey, to build spiritual connection through 'Heartfull Meditation', to increase my physical strength and flexibility and to connect with and expand, for all my students, our sense of inner beauty and clarity of spirit.
I have also completed a Yoga teacher training with Susi Hately in Calgary, Alberta as well as Foundation Restorative teacher training with Nevah Wendy Eyton and Swan in Vancouver, B.C.
