Debbi teaches flow-based classes with a focus on challenging and honouring the body and breath. She teaches in various locations across the northern Greater Toronto Area, and specializes in yoga for new mothers.
Debbi first explored yoga as a way to deal with the pressures of a high-stress job in IT Technical Support Management, and has been practicing various forms of hot, hatha and flow yoga since 2002. She completed her teacher training in 2004, and started teaching part-time. In 2016 after her third maternity leave, she left the corporate IT world to focus on developing her pre- and post-natal specialization.
Debbi's Postnatal Yoga class is specifically for mothers in the early postpartum stage. It is the ideal first class for new mothers to begin physical activity after birth. Restorative and gentle poses help new mothers recover and reconnect to the core and address changes in the pelvic floor, to slowly rebuild strength and flexibility as well as soothe muscles from nursing and caring for baby. She shows mothers how to release and open in the body, and teaches self-massage techniques.
Her Yoga for Mom and Baby class is a challenging and energizing flow-based class to help mothers grow in strength and confidence from week to week, and includes baby massage and baby yoga for infant stimulation and development.
In addition to Yoga Alliance, Debbi is registered with the Canadian Yogic Alliance (CYA-E-RYT200). Her additional certifications include prenatal and kids yoga. In addition, Debbi is a Core Certified Specialist through Bellies Inc.
Debbi also provides yoga teacher training certification for Postnatal and Baby Yoga, enabling certified teachers to expand their teaching repertoire. She also provides Prenatal Yoga teacher training on how to include pregnant women in regular group yoga classes.
