Sherrell is a Holistic Wellness Educator & Movement Practitioner.
During her enlistment in the Army, Sherrell began experiencing excruciating back pain. Upon receiving a diagnosis of arthritis her doctor mindfulness practices. That recommendation and a recommitment to her faith transformed her life and opened the door to healing mind, body, spirit. She is registered with the National Yoga Alliance, E-RYT-200, and completed her first yoga training in 2010.
Since that time Sherrell has been offering community and corporate wellness programs in an effort to educate others about the importance of mental wellness.
Sherrell also shares mindfulness practices with those around the world via her MindBody FAITH app and she is a contributor to the meditation app, Insight Timer.
She also serves on the board of the Veterans Yoga Project (VYP) and volunteers with the Arthritis Foundation and Hospice of the Chesapeake.
Her background includes human resources, conflict coaching, diversity and inclusion, and mindfulness in the workplace.
As a Mind-Body Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in the wellness space, Sherrell has training in various modalities. She is registered with the National Yoga Alliance, E-RYT-200, and teaches Hatha, vinyasa, restorative, and yin yoga. She has completed training in Trauma-Informed Yoga, iRest® Level 1 teacher informed by the teachings of Dr. Richard Miller and iRest Institute, Restorative Yoga for Race-Based Traumatic Stress Injury informed by the teachings of Dr. Gail Parker, and Christian & Biblical meditation informed by the teachings of Dr. K.D Weaver and the Sleeping with God Meditation Center.
Sherrell has been featured in Mantra Yoga + Health Magazine and her television and her TV appearances include WJLA’s Good Morning Washington, Fox5DC’s Good Day, Fox45 WFBB, and BMore Lifestyle.
