I spent my teens and early twenties drifting in and out of yoga, but it was not until 2006 that I really got bitten by the yoga bug. A three month yoga trip to India turned into two years and I completed my teacher training in 2008. I returned home to London soon after and have been teaching ever since.

Yoga is my pause in life, the thing that allows me to step back from the hustle and bustle and be quiet for however long I remain on the mat. I like to play with definitions of what yoga is and rather than getting caught up in the idea of ‘what yoga should be’. I prefer to ask each person individually – "What do you need yoga to be for you?"

For me this is part of the beauty of yoga, it represents freedom not constraint. If something isn’t working for you, it is OK to try something different, all paths essentially lead to the same place; If you need to calm down, yoga can be your quiet time, but if you’re feeling down yoga can be invigorating too, and a class can often provide the cuddle you need to give you back your smile.

Above all, yoga is a journey, and I see time and again both in myself and with my students that once the first step on the yoga road has been taken, one rarely strays far from the path for long – yoga has a way of drawing you in and keeping you captivated...I see so many of my students go through complete transformations, from sad to happy, lost to found and fearful to fearless.

I love every minute I spend sharing the tools of yoga and seeing students progress is magical.
