Originally from New Mexico, U.S.A., Katrina Petney began practicing Hatha yoga in 2004 while studying Biochemistry at Texas Tech University. She developed a passion for Vinyasa Flow yoga at Black Dog Yoga in Los Angeles in 2007 while she was getting her Master of Arts in Education at Loyola Marymount University and teaching biology and chemistry at Hollywood High School.
Katrina received her 200-hour yoga teaching certificate in Vinyasa Flow in Costa Rica in 2008. She also completed her 300-hour certificate in India and a 10-day Vipassana Meditation in Thailand in 2016. Since 2008, she has been teaching yoga and meditation all over the world (Argentina, the United States, Spain, France, Monaco, and Bali). She completed her second 10-day Vipassana Meditation in France in 2018.
Her background in biochemistry, education, yoga, and fitness along with her interest in holistic health, mindfulness, neuroplasticity, and the mind-body connection serve as the foundation for her teaching. Katrina currently has an app called Yotta Workout
and offers private and group yoga classes in Monaco and the South of France.
