Casey Baraw founded Inspired Yoga in July of 2011 in Jay, Vermont with the resounding support of the local community. She was originally drawn to yoga due to back problems stemming from her history as a competitive athlete and a twin pregnancy, in an effort to avoid back surgery, Casey took up Ashtanga yoga. From 2007-2009 Casey was inspired by her child care business to obtain her 235 Hour Teacher Training with YogaKids. Additionally, this program gave her the tools to integrate yoga into the educational system working with a number of local schools offering multiple yoga programs to students, educators, and health care providers. She attends educational workshops when possible and hosts world renowned teachers to continue her education. Casey developed a Small Business Employee Benefit program offering yoga as preventative health care to local businesses, non-profit organizations, and corporations. She attended David Swenson and Shelly Washington's workshop in 2011 and joined them once again in 2013 for the Ashtanga Teacher Training. In 2013 she graduated from the Integrative Institute of Nutrition and is a certified holistic health coach. Casey obtained her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification through Yoga Vermont and continues to work on additional hours and credits. She obtained her 300-hour Ashtanga Teacher Training in Goa, India learning an Iyengar approach to the Ashtanga Primary practice. Casey Baraw has been teaching and studying yoga for more than a decade and specializes in modifications for those who have restrictions and limitations. She studied under David Swenson, Kino Macgregor, David Robson and Yogananda Namito. Casey Baraw is the Lead Teacher as an E-RYT 500 of Inspired Yoga School located in Newport Vermont.
