Lisanne Beerenfenger is currently registered with Yoga Alliance as a RYT, which means that she completed her yoga teacher training at an active RYS.
She has a Master's degree with honors in Medical Anthropology and Sociology and a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Lisanne is originally Dutch, but has traveled through and lived in many countries of Latin America, Africa, and Asia. At present, she divides her time between southern Chile, where she has studied various aspects of indigenous traditional Mapuche healthcare and northern Spain.
Lisanne started her yoga practice in 2008 in the Netherlands. Right after her first class she knew yoga was going to play an important part in her life. She has attended classes of different yoga styles in the Netherlands, Thailand and Chile. In 2009, she started her search for a Registered Yoga Teacher Training program, somewhere in the world, that would suit her interests and her love for traveling. In 2013 Lisanne discovered the RYS Mahamudra - Tradición Yoga Himalayo in Santiago the Chile; it turned out to be the perfect match.
The practice of yoga helps her to dissolve her physical and mental discomforts. Above all yoga brings her peace of mind and a growing sense of acceptance, happiness and love.
In 2015, she stayed seven weeks at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama ashram in the outskirts of Rishikesh, India, to deepen her practice and knowledge on Yoga Meditation within the Tradition of the Himalayan Masters.
In May 2016 she published an extensive Spanish manual on Hatha Yoga practices called "Manual práctico de Hatha Yoga: descripciones detalladas para profesores y estudiantes" (Practical Hatha Yoga Handbook: detailed descriptions for teachers and students).
