A yoga teacher and humane educator, Margie Pacher helps yoga practitioners and teachers embody yoga philosophy in the modern world, to experience yoga as a path of action, and to use their passions, talents, and skills to benefit others in order to have a greater impact on the world around them.
On this principle, she designed Peace Begins with Me: A Yoga and Activism Course to emphasize the importance of "sustainable happiness." Sustainable happiness emerges when we extend ourselves to benefit the well-being of other people, animals, and the environment. Through honoring and implementing our own passions, talents and skills to benefit the well-being of others we establish more meaning in our lives. This course includes yoga classes, interactive humane education activities to explore world issues, yoga ethics, visualizations, and happiness homework. Peace Begins with Me: A Yoga and Activism Course can be taken as a 5-week course or as a 32-hour specialized teacher training program to design and implement one's own yoga and activism workshop or course.
She holds a M.Ed. in Humane Education from Valparaiso University, has participated in leading numerous teacher training programs, and has contributed yoga and humane education articles to Elephant Journal.
