Joan Seow is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Joan was co-director and founder, together with Nancy Stechert and Ken Harakuma, of the International Yoga Centre, which opened in Tokyo in 1994.
Joan was Program Director for the Advanced Studies Program 2003 at Como Shambhala Yoga Centre, Singapore. She was also the Director and core instructor of the Advanced Studies / Teacher Training Program 2007 and 2010 at the International Yoga Centre Singapore.
Yoga has been her guiding light since 1989. Her main teachers have been Nancy Crum Stechert, Ramanand Patel and the Iyengars of Pune, India. She has travelled widely for yoga, to the US., France, Peru, England and with several trips to Pune, Rishikeshi and Coimbatore, India. Joan continues to be influenced by the teachings of Vedanta of Swami Dayananda of Rishikeshi, and by Jiddu Krishnamurti and Vimala Thakar. She has studied in-depth with Zhander Remete, founder of Shadow Yoga.
