I have been teaching asana since 1998. This journey started for me as a student in 1989. Since the beginning there has been a slow and steady saturation. I believe there is no right or wrong way to practice, there is only more or less skillful means to do so. I study many styles as I believe that there are many paths, all leading to the same source. In fact, the method that best suits one person now may not be the method best suited for them in a year's time. The practice is alive and always transforming, just like those who practice it. A skilled teacher knows this, practices and teaches in a way that meets the moment just as it is...meeting her body just as it is...meeting her students just as they arrive, each day. I am interested in students wanting to cultivate a sensitivity to their bodies, hearts and minds. I wish to be a guide for those wanting to learn, dig deeper and excavate their most deeply buried treasure.
My root teachers: Sarah Powers, Amy Matthews, Tias Little, Patricia Walden, Eric Schiffman, Jennifer Welwood, plus many, many others along the way. These are the six I return to again and again.
My offerings: As a Prajna yoga instructor and an Insight Yoga instructor I offer therapeutic elements of yoga for wellness, skillful alignment in static Iyengar-based method, vinyasa, yin, restorative, my signature style yinyasa, plus whatever the moment calls for. I also offer teacher trainings 200 and 300 hour.
My creds: E-RYT500 and first student to receive 500 hour certification from Prajna Yoga. I am Tias Little's top teacher. 750 hour certification from Insight Yoga Institute. I am also a mentor for the Insight Yoga Institute.
