Soma Goresky, M.S. in Civil Engineering, B.S. Environmental Sciences/Biology. Soma is a geotechnical engineer with a consulting firm in the Bay area, as well as a practicing yogi and senior student of Baba Hari Dass. She has been teaching methods of pranayama and meditation to visitors of Mount Madonna Center since 1990. Soma is inspired by the experience of “teaching to learn.” She works with the principle that the depth of our understanding is based on our own experience through “Regular Sadhana (practice)” and strives to help students be successful in making formal spiritual practice a part of their daily lives. Soma also has undertaken an in depth study of the yoga philosophy as presented in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and has taught and led study groups exploring these ancient principles for over 25 years.
