I have been passionate about teaching and health most of my life, which led me to study Clinical Psychology. While seen patients and teaching workshops, I realized that well-being needs a more holistic approach, and for this reason, I became a Pilates Instructor, a Reiki Master, and a Health Coach.
Combining all this knowledge, I started a different professional practice, encouraging people to find the balance in their life.
Due to my eagerness to learn more about the body and its functionality, I moved from Costa Rica –my homeland- to New York to deepen my studies in Pilates. Once in the USA, I reconnected with my own personal Yoga practice, and I decided to come to India not only to study how to teach Yoga but also to learn how to live a fulfilling life. Since then, I have been living in London, India, and Thailand, teaching how to use the asana practice as a vehicle to find the inner peace.
Since September 2014, I’ve been teaching in Sampoorna Yoga School in South Goa, India as facilitator of the 200-hour YTTC. I’ve taught almost all the topics of the syllabus, but my passion is all about functional anatomy, how to observe the expression of a pose in my students, and recommend alignments and adjustments based on their unique body and practice.
My style is a combination of Yin and Yang energies. On one hand, I practice and teach Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow as a meditation in motion; using the effort of the physical body to focus on the breath and calming the mind. And on the other hand, I have become a follower and practitioner of Yin Yoga; using the gentle flow to allow the body to work in a deeper level, not only physically but mentally and emotionally.
