Moena de Jong is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).

Practicing and teaching yoga are an art, connecting to the heart. Moena teaches her classes the same way she loves to receive lessons: welcoming at all times, open to positive, transformative experiences. Aside from your unique individual experience of feeling more open and gaining a broader perspective on your possibilities, you feel the magic of a group synergy as the energy in class is uplifting.

In Moena's classes you are invited to rediscover yourself, feel inspired as you kindly explore every breath and sometimes accept a challenge with a non-violent approach. The music that accompanies the class is carefully chosen and flows magically with the postures.

Moena is a certified Jivamukti teacher who started her teaching journey with Hatha yoga, based on the principle of Critical Alignment.

In the Johan Noorloos Teacher Training, Moena teaches the workshops:

Pranayama & Mantra
Diving deeper in het power of breathing. Prana is the life force. Breathing is your engine during asana practice. PRA means 'moving' and NA means 'always.' Pranayama is controlling the normal pace of your breath and thereby controlling your mind.

Asanatechniek
These workshops cover the most important Vinyasa asanas: to teach as well as learn to analyze and adjust them in accordance with the physical potential of your students.

At Tula Amsterdam Vinyasa yoga 200hrs TT Moena teaches:

Asana & Bandhas

Asana, defined as “seat,” is the physical practice of yoga. Discover how to create a balance of effort and ease (sthira sukha) within every posture through the use of proper alignment, pranayama, bandhas, and intention.

  • Healthy alignment
  • How to assist and adjust students in a pose
  • Common injuries
  • Contraindications
  • How and when to make postural modifications
  • Benefits of a posture
  • Modifications and beneficial postures for prenatal students
  • Hands-on assists and adjustments

Pranayama & Meditation

Pranayama can deepen an asana practice, be used as a tool for dealing with depression and anxiety, and can be beneficial in many other circumstances off the mat.

Yoga Philosophy

Throughout this program, some of the philosophies relating to yoga will be explored through discussions, experiments, reading, and writing. Additionally, we will dive into practical philosophy as it relates to your practice, teaching, and life off the mat.

  • History of yoga
  • Sanskrit
  • Styles of yoga
  • Discuss Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali
  • Discuss the Bhagavad Gita
  • Study the eight-limbed path of yoga
  • Ayurveda

The word “Ayur” comes from the Sanskrit word “Ayuh” meaning life and “Veda” can be translated as wisdom or knowledge. So basically, Ayurveda means “the knowledge of life”. In its essence Ayurveda provides you with the knowledge of who you are and how to live your life in harmony. For this you need to understand your own mind-body personality (dosha) and Ayurveda gives you the key to this understanding. On top of that, it is the first ever recorded system for the physical, mental and energetic body. Fundamentally, it is giving each individual the personal tools to live a balanced and fulfilled lifestyle.

    The Yoga Practice Training

    Tula Yoga Amsterdam

    IN-DEPTH TRAINING

You will be given the opportunity to explore yoga and gain a deeper understanding of the practice itself.

We will be looking closer into the fundamentals of Vinyasa Yoga and lay the groundwork for a rich and skillful asana practice. By researching these fundamental principles your asana practice will improve.
We will explore the poses from different angels, we will be using props and we will integrate some partner poses, which helps us understanding the effect of the asanas. The asana practice is supported by an exploration of pranayama and yoga philosophy throughout each weekend.

We will help you to develop a thoughtful and effective home practice and you will learn and understand how to integrate yoga into your daily life. At the end of this training you will notice an improvement in your own yoga practice and you will have the knowledge to gain more in the classes you attend.
