Bio: Rev. Dileepkumar Thankappan, internationally known as “Avadhuta H. H. Jagat Guru Dileepji Maharaj" (Spiritual Name) and otherwise known as “Guruji" is world renowned Yogi and Interfaith Minister from Tripunithura, Kerala, India also known as the capital of Cochin kingdom. His family is ancient and well respected for its Vedic knowledge of Universal Spirituality, Yoga, Vedanta, Ayurveda, Kalaripayattu, natural self-healing systems, Sanskrit, literature, art, social & cultural activities and interfaith teachings for peace. Guruji has been active in sports, games, and arts throughout his school and university years and has received many awards recognizing his skill in National Cadet Corps and his dedication to community service in state and national level.
In his yogic life journeys, he met and learned from self-realized masters, Himalayan saints & honored yogis, and traditional vaidyas. Guruji received many divine visions from a young age. He developed an intense desire to preserve and pass on the timeless wisdom existing in his native lush state of Kerala and traveled throughout India. Having experienced yoga for over 45 years, Guruji lived in Himalayan caves, ashrams, and palaces as well as living under Gurukula (guru--sampradaya), and modern educational systems. He was an NGO representative at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
Guruji is an NGO Representative to the United Nations Department of Global Communications (DGC), and the Vice President of the UNSRC-Salus Wellness Network at the United Nations HQ in New York. Guruji is the founder and President of World Yoga Community Inc., an NGO Associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications (DGC), International Gurukula Community, Inc. and a trustee of the All Faiths Seminary International (Not-For-Profit-Organizations) in New York, USA and the Founding Chairman of the World Yoga Community and the President of the International Gurukula Community in Kerala, India.
Rev. Dileepkumar Thankappan (Guruji) is currently registered with Yoga Alliance as a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider), E-RYT 500, RYT 500, E-RYT 200, RYT 200, RCYT (Registered Children's Yoga Teacher) & RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) which means that they completed their yoga teacher training at an active Registered Yoga School and he is a yoga teacher trainer for yoga teacher's and an experienced yoga teacher in a traditional & modern style.
