Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

I found David's book to be very comprehensive as an initial training to be certified to teach yoga. He does a fantastic job at encouraging student-teachers to teach a pose during classes, which I think is a great way for us to gain experience while we are in the training. I would have enjoyed more practice in sequencing classes. I liked having to focus on teaching a couple poses a week but what I found lacking was the ability to easily sequence poses together and remember the Sanskrit terms. I know this is only the beginning of training and ease in teaching will come in time. Nevertheless, the training could have even shorter sequence practices spread throughout the training. (Perhaps 15-30min sequence practice in combination with teaching poses.) Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I am grateful to have met all my fellow trainees!

Thank you Mariela, With Covid-19, unfortunately we did not get as much hands on sequencing as we would have liked, but thank you very much for the feedback. Hopefully we will get back to normal soon and you can always attend future classes complimentary if you want to retake the sequencing portion after Covid-19 is finally over...

David is a fantastic teacher and inspires his students to practice and learn through his commitment to teaching yoga and his book The Path of Light. I took his 200 hr and 300 hr training program and both provided different insights and perspectives that deepened my knowledge of yoga and inspired me to continue advancing my education. His classes are amazing as well as the workshops taught at Energy Yoga. The community at Energy Yoga is supportive and welcoming and I recommend anyone who wants to further their practice and yoga education to attend Energy Yoga. Full Review
