I never saw myself as an instructor. I was battling anxiety, depression and panic attacks and yoga wasn’t helping. I had only been practicing for an hour at home and at my local gym and I felt like I wasn’t getting any better so I stopped for a month or so. My depression worsened and I left to Denver for 3 weeks and discovered hot yoga for the first time. Only been practicing for 3 months and I did an incredible job. Ever since that day I been so extremely dedicated and motivated to practice everyday. This turned to passion. I blossomed into a whole new person. Once my instructors noticed of my progress they encountered me to become one myself. I shrugged it off until several of them also recommended I do. My mentor and friend, Suzanne, went to Yandara several years ago and it changed her life. My intention was to wait for the November 200HR in Italy but somehow the universe and people said I had to go to Baja for it. So fast found forward a couple months later. I was in Baja California in one of the most beautiful locations in the world where the ocean means the mountains. Truly a magical and spiritual place. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. The instructor. The food. The accommodations. The scenery. The love. The fear. Then exhaustion. The excitement. All 100 percent worth it. Being born in Mexico made this experience even more special to me. Receiving some of the highest compliments from Craig, founder of Yandara, validated my existence on this earth. Kelly’s desire for fire during our morning practice was inspiring. Sarasvati’s angelic voice during weekly kirtan rocked me to sleep and tucked all the negativity away. Bolos amazing story times made me want to listen for hours and hours and of course Anne, the person who made me believe in receiving love again and that’s it’s okay to be vulnerable and it’s okay to cry. They were all there for a reason, to change my life. Yandara truly teaches through the heart.
