As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their traineesโ€™ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a schoolโ€™s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

At Hatha Yoga World the team is very dedicated, starting from Pankaj the owner, manager and Hatha Yoga teacher and ending with the cook, including Raj the anatomy teacher who taught us more than we could absorb, Nitin the pranayama and philosophy teacher who was very patient with us and loved to be asked questions and Subham the calm, steady and inspired Vinyasa Yoga teacher. We also had the chance to get one great Yin Yoga lesson from Julia who does not teach at the moment. I would have appreciated to get more materials on the great anatomy practical lessons we received from Raj (he taught us postures from extending muscles, strengthening joints etcโ€ฆ, but we cannot remember all that without recorded materials). Meditation was a bit left aside โ€“ we were told that anyway you need to practice so many hours to start understanding what meditation is โ€“ and I was a bit disappointed. But the whole experience was great, the atmosphere created by Pankaj was very friendly and very supportive, and I learnt a lot!

The teacher training course was exactly what I have been looking for: an in depth study and experience of the holistic system of Yoga. The training provided that I immediately afterwards started to share the wisdom and joy of yoga. It gave me a profound foundation to easily expand and deepen my yogic studies. The teachers have been given their full attention and their wealth of knowledge and experience to us students.

The two things I believe make the Hatha Yoga World experience great are Pankaj and the food. On the teaching side Pankaj is beyond a doubt very experienced which shows in the ease with which he demonstrates the asanas, gives out verbal instructions how to get into the pose, helps with physical adjustments and alignment and is very good at looking out for weak spots and injuries and working around them. I always felt safe doing poses under his guidance and he somehow knows exactly when a person can push themselves a little more or when they need to relax the ego and back down. The best thing about his style of teaching is his look and expression - it simultaneously says "I know this is hard work, but you got it" and "Relax, smile, this is not serious". On the personal side Pankaj was there with us throughout the day, eating with us, showing us around the town and answering the never-ending questions about India, yoga and life in general. I cannot stress how down-to-earth this man is. As soon as class is over he's done being a teacher and is now your friend and equal. And now the food. To start with your body is getting seriously challenged throughout the course and the fuel for your efforts is a very important part in my world. The meals were made using fresh ingredients that Pankaj picks out from the markets himself, is prepared by his wonderful team and staff on spot in the open kitchen - you can literally see it being cooked. It's full of color, diversity, fragrance and tastes absolutely amazing. I don't think there was one meal where I didn't refill my plate. I eat a lot, even by grandmother standards and there was never a bad look or feeling when I asked for seconds and thirds at each meal. I never left the table hungry or wanting. Honorable mentions. Raj the anatomy teacher is so good at connecting medical jargon to personal experience - by the end of class you will know exactly what a psoas is, where it is and what it does, and which asanas activate it. Benu the philosophy teacher is a whirlwind of a man and his classes are pure chaos from which you go out thinking that everything is connected and the more you know the less you know. He also sings a lot. Nitin the pranayama teacher is going to unlock your lungs but also make you dance with your eyes closed, draw funny pictures from which he reads your past and horoscope, and make filling your nose with salt water fun. Anjali the vinyasa teacher will drill the asanas with you until you can perform them perfectly and say the Sanskrit names as you're flowing. And she probably has the best smile in the whole of India. The room is cozy, bed is huge, view from the rooftop is amazing, the Ganga is begging you to swim in it. Go for it, you won't regret it!

My teacher training program with Hatha Yoga World was amazing! There were so many schools to choose from in Rishikesh so at the beginning, it felt very overwhelming. But I'm so happy that I chose Hatha Yoga World. Pankaj and Julie were so welcoming, kind and lovely people so I felt right at home. The school was beautiful and the food was so delicious that I was looking forward to each meal! I completed the 300 hour program which was physically and mentally quite challenging but I loved every minute of it. The teachers were very knowledgeable and passionate. Pankaj is patient, compassionate but strict in his traditional Hatha yoga classes. I also liked the adjustment classes we had with him as it made us understand the anatomy behind each posture and the way you can adjust your students. Julie is the most beautiful teacher who guided us through some nice Vinyasa flows and amazing Yin classes. I think Pankaj and Julie create a nice balance in the school, a real Yin and Yang. Overall, I recommend this school to anyone who is looking to deepen their practice or want to become a yoga teacher. The team of teachers will guide you through the philosophy, anatomy, meditation, pranayama and the practice of asana, so you will feel ready to teach. Everyone is very kind and always ready to help and answer your questions. I really loved my time in Rishikesh and I cannot wait until the borders open so I can go back for further studies with Pankaj, Julie and the team. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•

With so many options it is a difficult decision to know which school to chose in Rishikesh - and I am so glad I chose Hatha Yoga World. From the start you are made to feel welcomed and this continues throughout and after the course (I also went back again to learn a little more!) Over the weeks you are carefully guided through the programme by a fantastic team of teachers, each with vast knowledge in their fields be it philosophy, anatomy or asanas. The course is intense and involves physical and mental challenges but the solid foundation built at the start of the course and the experience of the teachers mean that the challenges are surmountable and you achieve your true potential. This makes the course valuable as you learn so much more than you think you can. The โ€˜icing on the cakeโ€™ was the food! Each day starts with fresh fruit, juice, porridge or my favourite, paratha and spinach - all freshly prepared and much needed after the morning practice. Lunch and the evening meal are again freshly cooked each day and there is always salads, soups, and vegetarian main meals. I had the opportunity to join the chef for the preparation of one of the meals and hopefully will be able to remember one or two hints for when I return home... All the staff at the hotel are always ready to help and support day or night and this along with the super comfortable rooms (they even have usb plug sockets!) makes this the perfect choice for continuing or even starting the yoga journey ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•
